Higurashi Sumeragi, a high school student with a fulfilling life, falls asleep on the train on his way home and wakes up to find himself at an unfamiliar station. A missing girl, Mayuru, bursts into the station building, marked “Sarugi Station.” A sudden gunfight ensues, and Sumeragi finds himself lost in a strange, otherworldly world.
