After her mother dies from a life spent paying off her father’s gambling debts, So-ui is left with nothing but debt and is forced to earn money immediately. At her lowest point, Chi-hyuk approaches her with an unusual proposal—to pretend to be his fiancée in front of his ailing grandfather in exchange for money and cutting ties with her father. What begins as a simple contract soon grows complicated as Chi-hyuk treats her with unexpected kindness, and So-ui finds herself drawn to him. But beneath his gentle facade lies something far more manipulative, turning their relationship into a dangerous mix of dependency, desire, and emotional imbalance as the line between pretense and reality begins to blur.
