Five years have passed since the death penalty was abolished in Japan. In its place, serious criminals are now confined to a special town called “黄昏町” (Tasogare Town / “Twilight Town”).
Yūma Chikami, who insists on his innocence but has nevertheless received a death sentence, is also sent to Twilight Town without exception. Inside the town, murder and rape carry no legal consequences—it is a complete lawless zone where death row inmates are forced to kill one another.
